Meet the Tunbridge Wells Partners
Paul Garside
Paul is the firm’s Managing Partner and a senior statutory auditor. He started his professional career with a large international practice in London auditing companies in both the UK and Europe. He joined the firm in 1979 having decided that he preferred dealing with small and medium clients rather than large public companies. Paul leads a group of accountants and tax advisers providing a full range of services to both corporate and private clients. He is responsible for the audits of some of the firm’s major clients and is an expert in advising solicitors and other legal professionals.
Great client service is very important to Paul and he strives to ensure that all his clients’ financial needs are efficiently and pro actively serviced by the firm.
Paul is training to become a private pilot. He also enjoys sailing, fishing and regularly visits France.
Richard Young
Richard is head of the firm’s audit department and advises small and medium owner managed businesses on all aspects of auditing, accounting, taxation and VAT matters.
He enjoys working with new and fast track businesses, advising on business structure and how best to extract profits in the most tax efficient way. Richard has a wealth of experience in dealing with a wide range of charitable organisations including schools.
Richard is a sports fan, active gym member and occasional golfer. He is also a long suffering Arsenal supporter.
Karen Braddel
Karen’s career in tax began in 1977 and as the Private Client Partner she has a wealth of experience helping individuals and families mitigate their current and future tax liabilities ensuring the successful transition of wealth to the next generation.
She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Association of Tax Technicians and is responsible for the majority of the Trust cases in the firm. To complement this she is professionally trained in Will drafting, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Karen helps demystify tax for her clients and it is important to her that they understand why she makes certain recommendations to them so they can clearly see the benefits of one choice over another.
Outside of work she follows Formula 1 racing and supports the McLaren team. She is also a keen gardener and always has a project underway.
Stephen Moger
Stephen is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants winning an ACCA prize for the Tax Planning paper during his studies. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Stephen’s clients vary from large companies through to effervescent start-up businesses where his knowledge, energy and guidance is often best applied. He advises in taxation and accounting matters, specialising in property development and the construction industry.
His honest and upfront approach is refreshing and his enthusiasm combined with his expertise mean Stephen is a great resource for any business to call upon.
Stephen is a huge music fan and is rarely found to be more than three feet away from an iPod. He is also an avid follower of American football, catching as many games as he can despite the inconvenient time difference.
Peter Delaney
Peter is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation with the distinction of winning both the Institute and Butterworth prizes in the final examinations. He has been with the firm for over 40 years bringing a wealth of experience and insight which is invaluable to his clients. Peter deals with a broad range of clients in addition to specialising in music, architecture, financial services, fashion design and public relations.
His passion is playing the electric guitar which he does at home but once a year he entertains at a local charity event.
John Fisher
John qualified in 1974 and then spent some time working at Deloitte. He has been with Deeks Evans since 1979 and became a partner in 1982. He is now mainly involved in the administration of the practice.
As a keen gardener you can find John admiring his handy work at the weekends after a day watching the cricket or hill walking.
