Meet… Kevin Fogg

Kevin Fogg has been part of the team at Deeks Evans since August 2002 and says he loves 'general accountancy'.

“It really suits me and I enjoy working with our clients, many of whom I've supported for more than 15 years now,” he explains.

In addition, Kevin has built up particular expertise in auditing the accounts of law firms.

“Solicitors have specific rules which need to be followed and I've got to know those over the years,” says Kevin.

While he was born in Somerset, Kevin spent the majority of his childhood in North Kent and, having finished school in Dartford, he more or less 'fell' into accountancy.

“I enjoyed maths at school and then when I went to college, I was offered the opportunity to do an 'O' level in accountancy and discovered that I really enjoyed it,” he explains.

At 17, he joined an accountancy firm in Welling and spent seven years there, before moving to a role in Tonbridge, where he stayed for 12 years, before making the move to Deeks Evans.

“It's a friendly place to work and we all really get on,” he says. “I like the fact that it's a very open place and we work together well as a team, sharing information when we need to. I also like the way that every client – whatever their size – gets the same excellent service from us. All our clients are important.”

When he's not at work, sport is a key part of Kevin's life. He loves cricket and supports Somerset – but doesn't get to see them play that often. Instead, rugby takes up a lot of his time.

“My nephew got involved with Dartfordians RFC and I used to give him a lift up there,” says Kevin. “After a while, I was encouraged to join in and now I manage the Dartfordians 1s team. It's a huge part of my life now, as I get up to Dartford for training on Tuesday and Thursday nights and I go to all the games – but it's such good fun.”
